Pro plan paid but cannot migrate n8n from free node — is this intentional?

Hello,

I have to be very direct here because this entire experience makes absolutely no sense from a user perspective.

  1. Is there seriously no direct support email? Being forced to create a ticket for every single question is incredibly inefficient. For a technical product like this, not having a proper support channel is unacceptable.

  2. Regarding my n8n deployment:

  • I deployed n8n on the free node, but it constantly shows "no healthy upstream", making the service unusable.
  • I assumed this was a limitation of the free tier, so I upgraded and started paying.
  • After upgrading, I discovered that I’m forced to create a brand-new app on the paid node. Meanwhile, all my existing configuration is locked inside the free node, and I cannot export or migrate anything.
  • So let me get this straight:
I upgraded and paid money, but I still cannot use my existing setup, and now I'm expected to rebuild everything from scratch? How is this a logical or fair workflow?

This feels like a trap: the system pushes users to upgrade, but once we pay, we realize we can’t move what we already built. If there is no supported migration path, then the upgrade provides zero actual value.

I need clear answers:

  • Why is exporting/migrating from the free node not supported?
  • Is there an official migration tool or any assistance available to move my existing configuration?
  • If migration is impossible, what exactly did I pay for?

This situation is extremely frustrating and, frankly, feels misleading. I expect a concrete solution, not generic responses.

Looking forward to a real explanation.

Let me answer your question. First of all, this is not a scam. You cannot start the service in the free zone because the resources in the free zone are occupied too much. There are not enough resources to start new services, so you will find that your service will always be stuck here.

If you need to back up data, please provide your id and ns, and provide your email, I will help you back up the data and send the data to you

mail:[email protected]

I will notify you via email after the backup is completed.

The data has been backed up for you and my colleagues will inform you later. Secondly, because the free zone uses a preemption mode, after restarting the node here, it is found that your n8n has started normally. If you still need to use it, you can continue to use it, but we cannot guarantee whether it can continue to run for a long time.
